The carambola fruit, otherwise known as “star fruit”, is native to the Malayan peninsula, but also thrives in the southern United States, the Caribbean, Southeast Asia,  and Latin America.

The fruit, which is yellow in color when ripe, has a sweet-sour taste that resembles the flavors of pear, grapes, and citrus fruits.

Many people love this fruit mainly for this unique combination.
